In 2007, Newmont’s Board of Directors and stockholders called for a business-wide Community Relationships Review (CRR). The CRR found a need for a more robust social management and assurance system that focuses on building capacity, strengthening relationships and delivering positive outcomes.  Newmont collaborated with CSRM to develop the Social Assessment Framework (SAF) in 2010.  Since then CSRM has worked with Newmont to refine the SAF and to trial its four core components. In 2013, CSRM is working with Newmont Ghana to undertake assessments at Ahafo and Akyem.
