Total E&P PNG engaged SMI-CSRM to undertake an Indigenous Peoples study for the proposed Papua LNG Project in Gulf Province, Papua New Guinea. This involved a desktop study to establish whether the people residing within the project area can be classified as ‘indigenous’ according to established international criteria as a basis for triggering free, prior and informed consent processes.
