CSRM was commissioned by the International Community Foundation (ICF) to assess the possible socio-economic impacts that may occur if three open pit metallic mining projects were operating in the state of Baja California Sur (BCS), Mexico. BCS does not have a metallic mining industry and these proposed projects could set a precedent for the state to become a mining region, with a large percentage of concessions already given by the federal government. Two separate reports have been produced in Spanish.
