This desktop research provided a brief on mining legislation and policies in Indonesia, before and after the period of national and regional transition. The project aimed to identify current Indonesian regulatory frameworks/policies and analyse their implications for mining, Corporate Social Responsibility and community development and empowerment. In addition, the research was conducted in partnership with Dr Dody Prayogo, the University of Indonesia (LabSosio-UI), and it is expected that this partnership will: foster the development of an entry point for close collaboration between IM4DC and other universities (UQ and UWA); result in the development of a formal university relationship to conduct in-country training and researcher exchange; and other future research projects with the LabSosio-UI.
